Functional Lab Testing

Functional lab testing goes beyond standard labs to uncover root causes of symptoms by evaluating key biomarkers related to hormones, gut health, nutrient levels, and more.

These advanced diagnostics provide a deeper understanding of how your body is functioning and where imbalances may be affecting your energy, mood, metabolism, or overall health.

With expert interpretation and a personalized care plan, functional testing empowers more targeted, effective interventions for lasting results.

At Wellness Edge, we believe that deep, data-driven insight is essential to providing exceptional care. That’s why comprehensive lab testing is one of the cornerstones of our approach. We go far beyond standard panels to uncover what’s truly happening inside your body — helping us design a treatment plan that is as unique as you are.

Our Core Tests & Panels

As individuals age, typical levels of hormones such as testosterone and estrogen tend to decrease. Hormonal changes can result in a variety of symptoms. Issues related to menopause, andropause, low testosterone, or other hormone-related conditions may be managed by approaches aimed at restoring hormonal balance. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is one option that addresses these concerns.

A Metabolic Health Panel is a comprehensive assessment designed to evaluate how efficiently your body manages energy, blood sugar, and lipid metabolism. This panel typically includes measurements of fasting glucose, insulin, hemoglobin A1c, and key lipid markers such as cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides.

Gastrointestinal stool testing is a method used to assess the composition and balance of gut bacteria. By analyzing the microbiome, we can detect the presence of pathogenic bacteria, yeast, or parasites, and evaluate markers of digestive function and inflammation.  Stool testing enables the development of highly personalized nutrition, probiotic, and lifestyle strategies aimed at supporting long-term digestive wellness.

IgG food sensitivity testing measures delayed immune responses to specific foods which may indicate low-grade, chronic food-related immune activation. Unlike IgE-mediated allergies that trigger immediate reactions, IgG responses can manifest hours to days later. This can lead to systemic inflammation, gastrointestinal discomfort, joint pain, migraines, skin conditions, or fatigue. This information can be valuable for guiding elimination diets. By identifying and removing reactive foods, patients may experience reduced inflammation, symptom relief, and improved overall well-being, especially in cases of chronic inflammatory or autoimmune conditions
